Chinese culture and language

From 2005-2015 I lived, worked and travelled in China. My 10 rewarding years working in start ups in both the public and private education sectors in Beijing provided multiple opportunities to work cross-culturally and develop a strong working understanding of Chinese culture. Four years managing a network of local Chinese primary and secondary schools built a solid understanding of the Chinese education system.

I travelled extensively during school holidays across China to many beautiful and remote places, gaining insights into China’s diversity.

I speak on China and Chinese cultural topics, inter-cultural immersion and design Chinese language and culture resources. I read, write and speak Mandarin with a working proficiency. I am considered a ‘China-hand’.

‘Schools need to prepare students for a world in which people need to work with others of diverse cultural origins, and appreciate different ideas, perspectives and values; a world in which people need to develop trust to collaborate across such differences; and a world in which people's lives will be affected by issues that transcend national boundaries’.
