Student Workshops
Student Workshops are tailored to school needs, with half day, full day, online and in person facilitation. Developing core skills of Global Competency, Primary and Secondary students design solutions to issues as active, informed and empowered Global Citizens. Student Voice, Agency and Co-Design are built into each program.
Climate Warriors
Planetary health is front and centre for students working as Climate Warriors in these workshops. Exploring current and future challenges and innovations, students will work with an #activehope mindset to design local solutions to Climate Change and planetary health using Design Thinking and Systems Thinking.
Exploring how Climate solutions link to both the UN SDGs and Inner Development Goals, students will examine GLocal manifestations of environmental challenges, to design local solutions that can be implemented immediately.
We All Belong
Identity and belonging are key concepts when designing inclusive classrooms and schools. Students will work as co-design culturally responsive strategies for their schools that link to both the UN SDGs and Inner Development Goals,
Using Design Thinking and Systems Thinking frameworks, students will become ambassadors for their local cultural and linguistic diversity.
Futures Thinking
Students work as futurists in these mind-bending workshops. Exploring #futuretrends and #futuretech students will use the principals of #Tech4Good to innovate and design prototypes that address potential social and environmental challenges identified through potential future trends.
Students will explore, collaborate, plan, design and lead discussions around possible future worlds and examine their part as active #futureshapers.
“ I really enjoyed thinking about how to carry out our plans/ideas of what to do to help our school, and I also liked working on Padlet. I learnt the most about how to formulate a plan to help your school or community, and that you really can be helpful.”
Grade 5 Student, Kingsville Primary School. Victoria
“ The project helped me think about the world around me and the importance of making change. It also showed me that the change can be made through small steps. Though the program is only one year, it taught me that I should be a Global Citizen life long.”
Grade 10 Student, Werribee Secondary School.
“I want my children to understand the world, but not just because the world is fascinating and the human mind is curious. I want them to understand it so that they will be positioned to make it a better place.”
Howard Gardner
"Global Competence allows mere mortals to change the world for the better. It helps us tackle important issues and create solutions to make our communities a better place. It provides people with skills, and knowledge to not only inspire but to lead others to improve our society. It’s accessible to everyone and it’s amazing to work together to share and explore ideas about global issues that you are passionate about."
Grade 9 Student, Yeronga Secondary School, Queensland
